City Limits Bar and Grill Colby Kansas

We stopped for the night at the Comfort Inn in Colby Kansas. The City Limits Bar and Grill is attached. They don’t have a gluten free menu, but I decided to take a chance. Our waitress assured me that none of the spices or dressings had gluten in them.

I ordered the grilled chicken and steamed broccoli. They also have a pretty nice salad bar. I had salad with lots of veggies, and ranch dressing. The chicken was yummy. The broccoli is what you would expect.

It’s been almost an hour and other than the residual headache and brain fog from being glutened earlier today at Subway, no further reaction. I’m sure that if the food had not been gf, I would not be able to write this post.

Hubby had the steak, salad bar and brussels sprouts. He said they were great. Good service, good food, great atmosphere.

On another note, it’s really windy here!

Subway is a No No

I’m writing this in a brain fog with a headache. 🙁

We stopped at Subway today for lunch. Haven’t eaten there for a long time. I checked the salads, the meats and the dressings before ordering. I ordered a chicken bacon spinach salad with most of the veggies and the southwest sauce.

20 minutes later the headache started. 30 minutes later it was time for Tylenol, which barely touched the headache.

I checked all of the ingredients again to make sure nothing was on the allergy list. Not an easy thing to do on a phone. Nothing should have caused a reaction.

And then I realized the person making my salad had made several sandwiches before my order.  Split the bread, pat down the bread and then reach into the veggies with bread crumbs all over the gloves. This is the only explanation I have.

I will no longer be eating at Subway! Like ever!
